Students in third grade, whose family is registered at Saint Benedict Parish, are invited to prepare for and receive First Eucharist here at Saint Benedict Parish. We use a “readiness model”. When you and your child have completed the workbook(s) and are ready, come see us. Together we will schedule a time to receive.
All parents are asked to register their child through the Faith Formation office located in the parish rectory.

Baptismal Record: In addition to your child’s registration form, please provide a copy of their Baptismal certificate with a raised seal. (This copy will not be returned) Those baptized at St. Benedict, no certificate is needed.
Pray: Prayer is an essential part of preparation for all sacraments. Parents help their children learn the Our Father and other general prayers. A great time to pray: first thing in the morning, meals, on vacation, at school, leaving for work, bedtime, etc. These prayers will be used their entire life.
Families are encouraged to attend Mass on a regular basis and holy days of obligation. This is the best practice to help prepare your child for First Eucharist.
The Eucharist is “the source and summit of the Christian life.” For in the blessed Eucharist is contained the whole spiritual good of the Church, namely Christ himself.
